We’re coming over next March for Cheltenham racing festival. Are there legitimate places where I can get my bets on.
There are Sportium establishments in Lanzarote. Just wondered if there were any in Costa Adeje or surrounding area.

Probably an unlikely scenario, but would the UK bookies pay out if they did discover the bet had been placed from overseas?

Where are you staying?
There is a bookies in the Irish Rover. At least there was in April. I was in there every day putting my bets on.

Ladbrokes operate in Spain as «Sportium» and they are legal betting shops but only with terminals (similar to UK). You need to show ID to use the machine.
There’s a small one up the shopping area behind Burger King on the front at Fanaba, and another one opposite Burger King on the front at Los Cristiano’s
There’s loads of pub’s that take bets and show the racing ………………. although I assume it’s not strictly legal 🙂

You have to use VPN….. Then you can say you’re in the UK…. There are some free ones around, we brought ours, had a good deal…..

I would think that if you use your phone’s data connection (and not local wifi) as such or through the wifi-hotspot feature of the phone with an UK SIM you’ll have an UK ip-adress i.e. everything should work that same as home. At least things work this way with my Finnish SIM card. Could be that the UK operators (at least those with their own operations/network Spain) are different. This is easy enough to check, go to something like http://www.whatismyip.com and see where it thinks you are based on the ip-address (for me I usually appear to be in Helsinki, if not that at least somewhere in Finland). These days data roaming within the EU should be reasonably priced, in principle same as home as well (then again there are exceptions to this, so best to check).

There is a sportium underneath Parque Santiago 2 but when I went to place a bet you had to obtain a PIN number from staff. You had to produce your passport to get the PIN number. Must be local to Tenerife because you can place a bet in the sportium shops in Benidorm without any problem or passport. Think I saw a Sportium at San Eugine shopping centre when we passed. There is also a bookies attached to The anchor down from Columbus hotel they claim it’s legit, but I prefer to use a different wee pub but can’t put details on here for obvious reasons as they would be shut down but if you want details will sent a P.M. Not in Adeje though nearer Patch.

IPVanishVPN on your mobile will block your IP address and let’s you bet online .. I’m using mine today putting bets on the champions league tonight. £6:99 a month really worth it if you like a bet
